Platform engineering for teams on AWS

Give every team
a reliable way to ship.

We replace laptop deployments and scattered pipelines with shared workflows your engineers can run. Vivek leads the work, from the first change to rollout across your teams.

A continuous copper bridge crossing a gap between two solid stone platforms.

Too much depends on
who knows the workaround.

As teams grow, the scripts and shortcuts grow with them. Eventually, getting a release out takes more coordination than it should.

A release needs the right person.

The deploy runs from someone’s laptop, or through a Jenkins job only its author understands.

Every team has its own pipeline.

A fix in one place needs repeating elsewhere. Shared libraries and deployment scripts keep drifting apart.

Recovery depends on memory.

Getting back online means finding the engineer who knows which steps to run, and in what order.

Platform engineering

What improved
at Chick-fil-A.

Vivek led platform engineering for five data engineering teams. Here’s what changed when they moved to shared deployment workflows.

Platform standardization

5

teams on one platform.

Teams moved from separate deployment setups to shared AWS CDK libraries and GitHub Actions workflows.

Disaster recovery

90%+

less recovery time.

Automating cross-region failover across the organization’s AWS accounts cut worst-case recovery from two days to under four hours.

Results from Vivek’s work at Chick-fil-A. Individual project results will vary.

Let’s get the platform
work into production.

We work alongside your engineers to improve the platform you have or build the foundation you need. Vivek leads the technical decisions and delivery.

Selected platform experience

Built for teams.
Proven in production.

Vivek’s platform work spans Chick-fil-A, HP, Kroger, and a VC-funded tech startup. It covers how teams ship software and the systems their products and operations run on.

Talk through your platform

Start with one workflow.
Get it into production.

Choose what to fix first.

We start with the workflow costing your team time or putting releases at risk. Together, we agree on the scope, fee, and how we’ll measure the improvement.

Build with your engineers.

Vivek leads the technical work. We implement the changes alongside your team and agree on a rollout that fits your existing systems and release schedule.

Leave your team ready to run it.

We work through deployment and recovery with your engineers, document the decisions, and establish ownership. We can then take on the next workflow or stay involved as your team grows.

Who you’ll work with

I’ll lead the work.

I founded Valteria. Over the past ten years, I’ve worked on production systems in financial services, aviation, and a grocery startup. I’ve been responsible for the infrastructure and the product running on it.

You’ll work directly with me on architecture and code. I can handle a focused project or lead a team for a larger engagement. I’ve brought in engineers at HP and Chick-fil-A, and hired and led the engineering team at Addies.

Before we
work together.

Is this a fit for my team?

We work with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and platform leads whose AWS infrastructure or release process is holding their teams back. We also help startups build a platform around a new product and established teams that need more engineering capacity.

What happens on the first call?

You’ll speak with Vivek for 30 minutes about your platform, what’s getting in the way, and the help you need. We’ll discuss whether we’re a fit and what a first engagement could cover. The call is free; you don’t need to prepare a deck or share access.

Can you work with our existing engineers?

Yes. We agree on ownership with your team before starting. Your engineers take part in the technical decisions and rollout, and we document what they need to operate the platform afterward. Vivek stays involved in the architecture and implementation.

Do we need to replace our whole platform?

We start by understanding the tools and dependencies you already have. The first project can focus on one release workflow or a specific reliability gap. We agree on tooling and rollout with your engineers before making changes.

Can you bring in engineers or staff a team?

Yes. We can add engineers to your team or put together a team for a specific project, with Vivek leading the technical work. He has brought in staff at HP and Chick-fil-A and hired and led engineers at Addies. We agree on the roles and responsibilities before the engagement starts.

How do scope and pricing work?

We agree on the work, responsibilities, and fee before starting. A platform project has a defined scope and measures of success. For staffing or ongoing support, we agree on the roles and time commitment. If you need an independent review first, we can scope that as a separate engagement.

shipping get stuck?
